Rainbow Cushion

What you will need:


• 7 pieces of CRO&KNIT T-shirt Yarn (First color x2, second color x2 and third color x3).

• 7.00 mm crochet hook.

• A large needle for weaving in the ends.

Stuffing.

Terminology (US):

• Slip stitch - sl st.

• Chain - ch.

• Single crochet increase - inc.

• Single crochet - sc.

• * Repeat the set mentioned inside *.



Pattern instructions:


This project will be worked in spiral and the standard stitch required to crochet is single crochet - sc. The overall skill level required to complete this project is intermediate.

Finished size:


22” x 12”.


NOTE: the size might be slightly different it depends on your stitches if they were tight or loose.



How to change color:



1. Pull up a loop with the first color.


2. Pull up a loop using the new color through both loops on the hook.


3. Continue to crochet as you normally do.





Written Pattern


NOTE: this pattern uses single crochet stitches and it is recommended to crochet tight stitches if you are used to crochet stitches loosely to reduce gaps between stitches.


Using the first color, leave about 50” tail and make 42 chains.


Round One: Make 1 sc in the first chain made to join in the circle then 2 sc in the next two chains and an inc in the third chain. Keep repeating * 6 sc, inc * five times and 3 sc in the remaining three stitches. Place your stitch marker in the last stitch of this round.


Round Two: keep repeating * 7 sc, inc * all around.


Round Three: 4 sc in the next four stitches and an inc in the fifth stitch. Keep repeating * 8 sc, inc * five times and 4 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Four: keep repeating * 9 sc, inc * all around.


Round Five: 5 sc in the next five stitches and an inc in the sixth stitch. Keep repeating * 10 sc, inc * five times and 5 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Six: keep repeating * 11 sc, inc * all around.


Round Seven: 6 sc in the next six stitches and an inc in the seventh stitch. Keep repeating * 12 sc, inc * five times and 6 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Eight: keep repeating * 13 sc, inc * all around.


Round nine: 7 sc in the next seven stitches and an inc in the eighth stitch. Keep repeating * 14 sc, inc * five times and 7 sc in the remaining stitches. Change to the second color in the last stitch of this round.


Round Ten: keep repeating * 15 sc, inc * all around.


Round Eleven: 8 sc in the next eight stitches and an inc in the ninth stitch. Keep repeating * 16 sc, inc * five times and 8 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Twelve: keep repeating * 17 sc, inc * all around.


Round Thirteen: 9 sc in the next nine stitches and an inc in the tenth stitch. Keep repeating * 18 sc, inc * five times and 9 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Fourteen: keep repeating * 19 sc, inc * all around.


Round Fifteen: 10 sc in the next ten stitches and an inc in the eleventh stitch. Keep repeating * 20 sc, inc * five times and 10 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Sixteen: keep repeating * 21 sc, inc * all around.


Round Fifteen: 11 sc in the next eleven stitches and an inc in the twelfth stitch. Keep repeating * 22 sc, inc * five times and 11 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Sixteen: keep repeating * 23 sc, inc * all around. Change to the third color in the last stitch of this round.


Round Seventeen: 12 sc in the next twelve stitches and an inc in the thirteenth stitch. Keep repeating * 24 sc, inc * five times and 12 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Eighteen: keep repeating * 25 sc, inc * all around.


Round Ninteen: 13 sc in the next thirteen stitches and an inc in the fourteenth stitch. Keep repeating * 26 sc, inc * five times and 13 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Twenty: keep repeating * 27 sc, inc * all around.


Round Twenty One: 14 sc in the next fourteen stitches and an inc in the fifteenth stitch. Keep repeating * 28 sc, inc * five times and 14 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Twenty Two: keep repeating * 29 sc, inc * all around.


Round Twenty Three: 15 sc in the next fifteen stitches and an inc in the sixteenth stitch. Keep repeating * 30 sc, inc * five times and 15 sc in the remaining stitches.


Round Twenty Four and Twenty Five: sc all around.


NOTE: Do not fasten off yet.


Now fold the circle in half and make sure that the last stitch worked is in the edge of the rainbow and the right side of the rainbow facing the outside. After that, work slip stitches all along the edge of the semi-circle to close it. Make sure to pick up both loops of both semi-circle sides just like the picture below.



Fill in the cushion with the stuffing then use the long tail left to close the inner semi-circle using sl st all along just like the previous step.


The last ting left to do is to hide the tails inside the cushion using the large needle and enjoy your rainbow cushion.
